PostSubject: A journey gone wrong (open)   A journey gone wrong (open) Icon_minitime1Wed Aug 25, 2010 5:16 pm

The raging sun was unmerciful on the 4th day of Kenshi's shinobi training, he left his home and passed through the village gates all with the sole purpose of finding someone or something that would bring him advancement in his techniques. Kenshi closed his right eye sighing a little almost as though he was in deep thought, there was a lot ahead of him, so much so that soon he would be gaining a team and in due time begin his training for the Chunin exams.

It was not the time to be thinking about things like this, it was time Kenshi kept moving. He continued through the blazing sun, his feet just shoveling through the high piles of sand as he walked. Birds and buzzards in the sky around him made him realize just how much of a wasteland the Great Desert actually is. Kenshi took a moment to lightly scan numerous locations around him with his eye while walking, as deserted and lifeless as the desert seemed there was no telling what could happen. It was no where near the time for Kenshi to begin letting down his guard, at least not until he found shelter.

For almost 4 hours Kenshi walked, he was deep into the heart of the desert now, his water supply almost depleted and not a fresh source in sight. Kenshi could feel the pressure of the heat getting to him, he was in desperate need of rest. Struggling, Kenshi took another step falling down onto one knee panting heavily as the sweat began racing across his face. He couldn't do it, even if he wanted to he would not be able to make it halfway through to the border by nightfall. The skies already began changing and the beating heat soon transitioned into a cold breeze.

"I'll call it a day..I need time to rest.." Kenshi spoke finishing the last bit of his water from the bottle. He wiped his lips and scouted around in hopes of finding a cave, rock or ditch, somewhere that he could at least sleep for the oncoming night. It didn't take him long to improvise, he managed to find a nearby cactus with some rocks around it. Kenshi removed his kunai from a holster on the right side of his pants as he began cutting the cactus lightly on the sides and attaching the pieces carefully with some string he brought with him from Suna. Applying the final modification of sand to give it appearance, Kenshi managed to make a quilt that would not only keep him warm for the night but camouflage him - if even slightly- from predators.

Kenshi now motioning to settle himself in for the night was startled by the sight of a kunai that landed right in front of him. It astounded Kenshi, was he that careless now? How did something like this get thrown near him without him noticing? It wasn't the time to be debating this however, this obviously meant someone was near. Kenshi's eye sharpened as they carely moved around the perimeter of his kneeling position. This enemy was good enough to exploit his blind spot so there was no telling what else the opponent was capable of. At that second Kenshi's attention was caught as a Kusagakure Chunin ninja leaped from the below patch of sand. Upon hearing the words "Die!!" that left the Chunin's motuh Kenshi was ambushed by a Kunai blade combined at the rim with a chain.

In an act of defense Kenshi dove to the right side of his location making sure to tuck and roll in order to keep his balance. Now back on his knee he reached into his kimono shirt drawing one of his favored weapon the Funsai Buredo Shuriken. He turned around ready and willing to defend his territory sacrificing his life if it came down to it. The Chunin appearing in a flashing speed motion behind Kenshi holding a Kunai ready for bear. He was much faster than Kenshi, almost too fast for him to see but not too fast for him to predict. Kenshi dashed off in a leap forward instantly upon instinct when the Chunin made his move, while in aerial motion however Kenshi was able to stealthfully send his Buredo towards the ninja. The blade was spinning at an effective rate, the kind known to be proper for Shuriken throwing, however upon a few diameters from reaching interception range of the Chunin the weapon spilt apart sending small blade fragments into the ground.

Kenshi landed on the ground with a little smirk on his face, the Chunin still with the same intense look of murder in his eyes dashed towards Kenshi. However unbeknown to the Chunin Kenshi already while in motion of throwing the shuriken managed to connect his threat to parts of the each of the blades using his fingers as the puppeteer from the strings. Kenshi in a calm graceful motion slid himself back a little to get a bit of distance -not very much- from himself and the Chunin, because of this he was able to successfully retract his middle finger causing one of the blades to zip past the Chunin's face into Kenshi's hand. Because of the speed the blade left a nasty slash across the Chunin's face. The Chunin was not stupid however, this little act of cunning that Kenshi showed shoved the Chunin on his guard. He looked down at the sand noticing the strings and slashing them with his kunai thus breaking Kenshi's connection.

Kenshi's eye widened as he noticed the situation that had occurred. Not trying to have his first alternative plan backfire, Kenshi turned around and dashed with great pace trying to flee. The Chunin however was able to cover a mass distance in little time causing him to catch up to Kenshi's pace. Seeing as Kenshi was a little bit cautious for his life being that he was still a Genin, the Chunin advantageously sent a powerful air side kick to the ribs of Kenshi. Falling sharply onto the ground and rolling in pain because of the hit Kenshi placed his hands on his ribs in pain screaming. It was not a long yell of agony but it was long enough to give the Chunin a satisfying smirk on his face. He walked over to Kenshi grabbing hold of his Kimono lifting him off the ground, Kenshi was unable to fight him off at the moment as his ribs were still in pain. Due to the kick 3 of them were fractured and soon even the task of breathing became painful.

The Chunin sent two punches both to the right and left sides of Kenshi's cheek making his lips bleed from both ends as he was then tossed down into the sand. "It over.." the Chunin spoke assuring himself the feeling of victory. He reached behind him taking a sword that he had sheathed on his back and prepared to finish Kenshi off. Kenshi was in a little too much pain to get up right away but he had one last plan in mind. Summoning up his last bits of strength Kenshi reached into his kimono placing an explosive tag not at his side and stabbed a kunai -he pulled out shortly after- into the tag. Kenshi on his chest using his arms, elbows and knees as support began crawling away from the tag. The Chunin walking up to the crawling Kenshi didn't even bother to notice the tag on the ground as it was going to be useless to Kenshi.. or so he thought.

Raising the sword above his head the Chunin was about to end everything with this next blow, Kenshi was not about to have his life end here however. He turned onto his back and threw the one piece of blade he got from his Buredo. With a strand of luck the Buredo managed the it the hand of the Chunin stabbing into his hand, but even more so it knocked the blade from his hand causing it to flip in the air landing back near Kenshi's kunai. In mid air seconds before hitting the ground however it knocked the kunai out of the stabbing position it was in on the tag, this causing a slight rip in the tag by domino effect made a light little sparks with a burning begin on the tag. The Chunin still in pain by the razor lodged in his wrist didn't notice that the burning tag was being carried by the passing night gale, in it's motion it slapped onto the face of the Chunin.

A powerful explosion rung out instantly upon contact sending a blasting wave to Kenshi that swept him up off the ground and slammed him into dying tree a ways back from him. The explosion subsided and not a trace of the Chunin was left other than a bloodstained Kusagakure headband that blew in the winds. Kenshi still bleeding and now hurt more by the explosion wave as well as covered with little traces of ash, coughed trying to hold himself up. There went his night of camping out, he was too weak to get up and head back, the explosion and tree behind him surely was not going to help a few fractured ribs probably now broken by impact. At least one thing was for sure, he knew that getting to sleep wasn't going to be a problem, the amount of pain he was in began making him black out. Kenshi didn't even fight it, he closed his eyes willingly passing out with hopes of waking up in the morning.

Trying to find an appropriate reason for coming back from a well known Bar in the Hidden Leaf - besides going out to drink- The Jounin of Sunagakure was walking through the desert heading back to her home of the hidden sand village. A night of partying, drinking and loud music, it was most definitely worth the trip all the way to the land of fire. Not that she had any complaints, but it could have been better, in fact the only reason she didn't come home any sooner is because she had gotten drunk falling asleep at some local inn. With her arms crossed Rumi sighed almost visualizing the voices of her superiors lecturing her because of her time away and lack of missions. "You know...Hearing the elders complain was not something I really missed.." she said to herself beginning to kick minor rocks in the sand not trying to get back to the village in a Hurry.

It was another unmerciful day in the Great Desert, the sun took no prisoners as it rained down on everything generating a heatwave to state it's presence. Rumi began sweating a little and bushed her hand across her face to clear the beat of sweat, but strangely enough a passing gale managed to blow her cowgirl hat straight off her head. "Aw Jeez..." Rumi said in the most uninterested way she could. She stood for a second watching the hat blow to a nearby tree that just happened to have something posted up against it nearest the ground. Rumi tiled her head trying to get a better view, what exactly was that? A person or a rock? Either way she decided that she should check it out. Not for the sake of being curious, but for the sake of getting her hat, because as fate would have it the darn thing blew right next to the tree.

Rumi began her advance towards the figure on the ground but stopped halfway when she noticed the blood dried headband of Kusagakure. Shaking her hear in pitty with her hands on her hips, she went with the assumption that some little Genin got lost here and died because of the environment. Luckily not far from the headband was her hat laying in front of the body of a boy. The boy was injured..obviously, by appearance. The look on his face showed that he was intense pain before his passing out. Naturally Rumi didn't care as she could have just taken her hat and left, but there was something about this boy that made her stay. She couldn't place her finger on it, but by looking at him she wanted to know if he was someone of a special pedigree. Perhaps he was the Kusagakure Genin? No the idea of that would be completely absurd, to think a Genin could make it past the land of water's borders and not be dead? He couldn't have been, she was able to deduce that he may have been from Sunagakure like herself.

If this was the case then she couldn't just leave him there to die. Rumi used her foot to brush off some of the accumulated sand that was on the boy's body before she shook him a little with the same foot. "Hey you..Wake up if you can hear me." Rumi requested still shaking him a little. It was clear that this definitely was not working so it was time to take a little more measures. Rumi reached down trying to feel for a pulse and managed to pick one up, faint but still there. Using a strong focused amount of Chakra which selected her iris as it's gathering point, Rumi canned the body of the boy trying to see exactly how much chakra he had left.
Spoiler:

Her reading revealed that not much Chakra was used by the boy however, Rumi could not help but gasp when she saw the reserves of Chakra contained in this little boy's body. It was unnatural, this was too much for one person, especially someone looking as young as him. The boy had a bigger chakra pool than a Jounin like herself, was this even possible? Was he a Junchuriki or something? Many more questions arose in the head of Rumi but she shook herself back to reality. Whatever the boy was, he needed her to work fast otherwise he would most surely die. He had enough chakra that it seemed as though it would be easy to speed up his natrual recovery rate. She knelt down next to the boy and turned him over on his back placing both her hands on his chest. It was easy to access being that his Kimono was a little revealing of his chest, Rumi closed her eyes and sighed as she assured the boy, "Everything will be fine soon kid..". Rumi's Chakra began gathering at her palms as they took on a teal aura which began to connect itself with the boy's own chakra slowly mending the external wounds. The aura not only began fixing all the external problems but it combined itself with his own chakra to begin healing the body of the boy internally, it went to the broken ribs and started a rapid recovery process as the rest of it made sure that his Chakra would become active again. Rumi focused herself trying to make sure that he was healed properly as she had no idea how long he had been out here.

The aura being used upon Kenshi was indeed one he needed at the moment. Kenshi was feeling himself slip away even though he was asleep. He couldn't remember what happened to him, the Chunin, the pain, all of it came as a blur. He was able to began is descent back to reality however as he heard the words, "Everything will be fine soon kid...". Kenshi's eyes twitched still closed from being unconscious, his energy began to replenish and his Chakra granted him the strength he had before the fight once more. He was no longer in pain from the broken ribs that he was inflicted with because of the Chunin and in time Kenshi began to lightly open his eyes looking up barely at the woman who was healing him.

He was unsure of how to react at first as he was still not in his right frame of mind. But upon gathering his thoughts he sat up quickly looking for the nearest thing to use as a weapon as he spoke, "Wh-What the hell is going on..The Chunin...Where?..Where am I?". Kenshi was lost in a state of confusion, he looked around to notice that he was still in the desert. He placed his palm on his face as he tried to contemplate something to say, he wasn't sure if to thank her or ask her why she was here, but either way Kenshi was grateful.

"You..You saved me from certain death..Much appreciated" Kenshi spoke keeping his head low in a mellow tone of voice. He showed his respect and appreciation for her assistance as he knew that he would not have been able to get back to the village in the condition he was in. Kenshi attempted to rise to his feet, he managed for a bit but fell down to one knee as he was still getting adjusted to the situation at hand.

The boy awoke from her healing, it placed Rumi's mind at ease slightly to know that this was done. Not that she had any doubts, after all she was a good medical ninja. From his responses and actions, she already could see that they boy was in shock. Rumi stood up and looked down at the boy placing her hands on her hips shaking her head from side to side. "Wow kid you would have been dead if I didn't happen to come looking for my hat here, anyway why is a Genin out in the desert?" Rumi's question was straight and to the point.

She wanted to know exactly what went through this kids mind to make him think for one single solitary second that it was safe for him to be roaming this far away from the village unprotected. Rumi for a moment contemplated that maybe he was on a mission, however she quickly dismissed that thought when she remembered that he was here by himself. Normally Genin would need to be with a Sensei Jounin if there were on missions or at least with someone else. Maybe this kid was something special, was he strong enough to take one missions by himself? It would make sense after all. A boy with as big a chakra pool as his in addition to his appearance, she only theorized that he must have been a descendant from the legendary Shoubu. Not that there was much to distinguish him by, however his mind set and eyes showed something different than what average shinobi had.

Rumi looked to her left at the storm building in the far desert then looked back down at Kenshi. "Can you stand?" She asked as she crossed her arms over her chest which was partially exposed because of her attire. A light gale moved past her face taking her hair into dance with the wind. "If you can.." Rumi continued, "Then lets get you back to Sunagakure...I can't afford to let a half dead Genin roaming the forest be on my conscience.". Rumi nudged her head a little to signal the boy to get up and follow her as she was getting a little bit tired of being out in this hot sun. She wanted to hurry and get back to the village so she could at least get a drink and..Check in with the higher up, if she still felt like it.

Kenshi looked back at the woman wishing he was able to formulate the words appropriate to ask her who she was. He was grateful to her for everything that she had done for him - at least in terms of healing- however, Kenshi felt a little dissatisfaction. Someone had to come to his rescue, he could have died, his guard was not well enough that he was ambushed by a Chunin. All these thoughts raced around Kenshi's head and troubled his mind as he tried to stand up as she had asked him. The feeling of pain in his ribs was gone, he no longer was in need to rest however he was not perfect in his movements. Kenshi tried to walk staggering a little with each step, He wanted to become stronger but at the rate he was going there was hardly any progress. Was this what a strong shinobi would do? Unable to even hold his balance, even after being healed. How pathetic..Kenshi was ashamed briefly to call himself a shinobi.

"Miss I-" Kenshi mumbled as he fought with himself to overcome the wobble of his legs. It was shameful indeed to Kenshi's pride, there was no way that he could ask her what crossed his mind for a moment. He wanted to dreadfully however as it was the meaning of his journey, would she or rather could she be the one that he was looking for? The one able to aid him in his training of being a Shinobi. Kenshi's eye shifted down to the sand for a little and then slowly up at the woman's feet. This was not what he needed to ask her, at least not yet. He hadn't even found out her name, what would be the point in asking her to train him. There was another factor that played into this equation as well, by her technique, was she an medical ninja? And were they even allowed to play the role of Sensei? Kenshi decided that it was better to know than wonder.

Kenshi swallowed his pride and shifted his gaze from her feet scanning up to her face. His face however was frozen in sight, being that he was weak before, he did not manage to get an appropriate look at the woman. Was she insane? wearing something like that and masquerading as a Shinobi? How was it possible? Kenshi's eye seemed to not want to move from the woman's torso however being that he was the person that he was, Kenshi forced himself to look at her face.
"Excuse me miss...Could you tell me your name?" Kenshi asked humbly turning his face to the left in hopes of his bangs hiding the light blush that was across his face. He wanted to remain focused on the task at hand however looking at this woman was not going to make that easy. Kenshi believed in formality and as young as he was, he was no stranger to beautiful women. Kenshi desperately hoped for something to strike his mind enabling him to take his mind off of what he saw. Nothing seemed to work however, then he heard her tell him that they needed to return him to the village. Kenshi decided that maybe the trip out here was not the best idea, it also would suit him well to return. With all these thoughts clearing his mind - something he was most grateful for- Kenshi nodded at her and responded.
"Yes...That sounds good."

Learning Jutsu
Spoiler:

The silver canteen swung against Hotaru's hip, the liquid inside of it hidden to all those who spied at it from the outside. But she knew what was inside that container. She knew all too well what it held and what control she held over said fluid.

Warm sand blanketed her ankles as she took a step forward, swinging her fan forward with a powerful thrust and causing a gentle gust of wind to follow. Royal blue eyes narrowed slightly in thought as she took a step forward, moving the other fan in her hand in a swinging motion upward - arching toward the sky as another small breeze passed through. Her dark hair blew back behind her, but Hotaru didn't care. It was taking everything she had not to give in to her blood lust then and there.

A shudder ran up her spine. Why must I torment myself like this? she thought, eyes narrowing while she spun on her heels and swept the fans across her body in a horizontal motion. Again, the canteen clanked against her hip. Just hearing the swish of the liquid inside caused her heart to race. She was dying to release the liquid and let it come out and "play" against these golden grains of sand.

Sighing, she relaxed from her kata stance and looked out across the barren horizon. It was maddening. Hotaru knew that she wasn't truly a horrible person, but what could she do? Could she continue to lie to Misanagi as she had been over the last few years? The woman who was her caretaker and her guiding beacon would have been thoroughly appalled if she were to discover this slowly dark and sinister side of her attempting to reach the surface.

I can't...stop this! Slipping her fans back into their respective holsters, Hotaru reached for her side to grasp one of her kunai. Holding out her hand, palm exposed, and was about to slash at her hand so she could see the beautiful red pigment hidden beneath when the far off cry of battle reached her ears.

Whirling around toward the sound of the battle, Hotaru slid her kunai back into its holder before making a mad dash toward the sound. If it was anything to keep her thirst for seeing blood in check, then it was certainly a better option - even if Hotaru knew that going towards this conflict probably meant heading into the jaws of death itself.

As far as she was concerned, she'd died once already.

Kicking up sand behind her, Hotaru leaned forward to increase her momentum. However, the sound of the battle almost immediately ended and when she came to a halt, she saw two individuals speaking to each other - one of them being a female who was trying to help a younger male up onto his feet. Not sure if she should be stumbling onto such a situation, Hotaru decided to ease her pace before making her way toward them.

As they finished talking and looked up to acknowledge her presence, Hotaru smiled pleasantly and waved, the concern clear in her eyes as she took on the beaten visage of the young boy with the intriguing hair color. "I don't mean to intrude," she apologized, looking to the older female with the provocative outfit. A soft blush tinted her cheeks before she swallowed and continued. "Is everything all right? Can I assist you all in some way?"

With the crossing of her arms over her chest, Rumi turned her head to the right noticing a young girl who happened to stumble by here. She tilted her head slightly to the side as Rumi herself was not too fond of where these Genin seemed to be popping up from. Nevertheless she had no reason to complain, perhaps this girl was also lost the same way. By the reaction on her face Rumi already knew what they were looking at and sighed in response, trying however not to give off the rude impression that she would normally do, Rumi moved her hand in a gesture to signal the young girl to come closer.

"Hey..I appreciate the offer, but I've got this under control, handling one half dead Genin isn't much for me." Rumi spoke out to her smirking a little before briefly shifting her glance to the boy behind her. Wondering however what this young girl would be doing out here in the desert, Rumi walked a little to meet the girl halfway if she decided to come closer. "What might you be doing out here anyway? Don't tell me Genin from all over the place like to get lost out here." Rumi laughed to herself at her own words, not like it was the best line of the day, but it was something to think about. As she saw first hand, Genin, or one in particular are not exactly the most suited for the outside survival issues.

Rumi looked towards her left as she then began walking not trying to stall anymore, She nodded at the two to follow her if they so choose. "Alright lets get things started..Hm, we'll go with introductions." Rumi spoke walking and by this time expecting the two Genin to follow after her. "I'll go first...My name is Rumi Shiga, Jounin of the Hidden Sand" Rumi continued placing her hands behind her head in a resting motion, Her hair lightly covering however at the same time revealing her left eye that glanced at the boy, signaled her next question. "And you are?" Rumi asked awaiting his response, She would expect that upon his answer, the girl would see it as her turn to do the same.

This was not exactly the best way to start things as she had no idea why these children were out here in the first place, but she had to break the ice somewhere. Rumi honestly felt a little awkward asking these children their names as she felt as though she was their sensei, and that was a role she honestly never had to play before. Still, Rumi made sure that her feeling of awkwardness did not show as she kept strong to what she expected of the two. Hopefully however, if they did actually choose to respond, she could get to the bottom of why the two of them were out here in the first place, but even more importantly who the young boy was. She was not completely fascinated, but there was something about him that seemed strange, almost as though simply by looking at him she knew exactly where he was from. This idea however was completely absurd as Rumi just met this kid and that would, at least to her, extremely strange if she knew who he was.

Secondly there was this girl. She seemed to have been watching them talk and by her appearance, she did not seem like some average Genin. Offering assistance to Rumi was very kind of her, however, how was she so sure that she was actually able to assist? Was she also a medical ninja like Rumi? Questions like this arose in her head. One way or another Rumi felt the need to get to the bottom of this and find out exactly what was going on with these two, and only through getting to know then would she acquire the answers.

Upon her words of explanation as to how she was able to handle someone like Kenshi in his state gave him assurance that she was indeed a medical ninja of a high calber. Still to Kenshi's knowledge, medical nin are not known to dress the way she did, it was a tad too, provocative. Kenshi however did his best to ignore this fact as her skill spoke for itself. When Rumi took her walk and signaled them to follow if they wished Kenshi nodded and did just that, Still wondering if she really was the person he was looking for when he came out here Kenshi kept a strange look on his face, almost questioning himself.

Rumi, her name was normal and in addition to this she stated that she was a Jounin from Sunagakure, the same village as Kenshi. He was fooled of course because she was not wearing a headband, but perhaps a ninja of her skill did not need to wear one. After getting a closer look at Rumi taking a minute to compute her name in his head, he recognized the name. She was indeed famous in the village, as she was one of the very few combat medical ninja. Kenshi felt almost ashamed that he was in her presence, as her skill was almost too well known by a Genin of his up brining. As she asked for him to speak his name he nodded responding humbly. "I am Kenshi Yurakata..", Kenshi's attention was then turned to the female as she was letting her know that she should follow his lead and state her name next.

Kenshi was also a little curious as to who this girl was, he was a bit more curious as to why she was in this side of the desert as well. Maybe she wanted to train too, or possibly a mission, either way he was not going to show it but he was a little eager to know who she was. Kenshi's seemed to almost stare at her as he awaited her words.

A journey gone wrong (open) Empty
PostSubject: Re: A journey gone wrong (open)   A journey gone wrong (open) Icon_minitime1Mon Sep 13, 2010 6:17 pm

The two speculated her curiously upon her arrival. Could she blame them? Of course not. To do so would warrant just how foolish their actions are for trusting her so easily. Just because they had some form of evidence stating that they were from Sunagakure didn't mean that that was actually where they hailed themselves to be. They could have just as easily been like her - from a different place altogether but with no memory as to her roots.

Mentally she sighed as words were exchanged. What am I saying? she thought, shaking her bangs from her face. Surely the world isn't so tainted that I have to go around mistrusting those I happen upon. I'm a medical-nin!

The lady smiled at her offer for help. She was obviously a skilled female - a medical ninja like herself (or at least what Hotaru aspired to be). Her introduction began, as well as her questions. Rumi Shiga. It had a pleasant ring to it. A few seconds passed quietly before the realization of who this female was reached Hotaru. Her eyes widened just slightly as her guardian, Misanagi, had often told the young Genin about this woman. She had even had the honor to work side by side with the Jounin once upon a time - before she'd taken Hotaru in and become her guardian. Rumi was practically legendary - idolized by many medical-nin or those who aspired to be as such (and hell, she even had a few of the girls developing "mentor crushes" on the medical combatant).

Hotaru bowed her head gently out of respect for the older woman before her blue eyes moved to gaze at the young boy - his hair color still capturing her immediate attention. Silently the two of them followed the older female as their footsteps both appeared and disappeared in the golden sand beneath their feet. Finally the boy gave his name to the group. Kenshi... The name rolled off her tongue nicely. But there was just something about the boy that stuck out to her - spoke something to her in a way that tugged at some kind of heart string.

She mentally shook her head. No, that was just silly. The female Genin smiled, her hand resting on the tops of both of her iron fan handles. "And I'm Hotaru Sumeragi. It's a pleasure to meet you both, Shiga-san and Kenshi-kun." They continued to walk along before Hotaru looked at both of her "companions" and felt the need to elaborate on things while, in turn, asking her own questions. "As for why I was in the desert, Shiga-san, I was simply doing some training exercises." Hotaru's blue eyes looked to Kenshi as she clasped her hands behind her back, the feel of the sand tickling her toes but warming them comfortably all at once. "Were you training as well, Kenshi-kun? Or were you in the midst of a battle before Shiga-san happened upon you?"

Rumi looked back at Hotaru and couldn't help but chuckle slightly at her polite attitude. She was really formal, not at all like the people that Rumi naturally encountered, but Rumi would not complain, She simply redirected her gaze to the path ahead of her listening to the words coming from Hotaru. Feeling obligated to answer for Kenshi however Rumi broke in, "I honestly just found him laying there..He obviously was fighting is all hehe.". Rumi closed her eyes chuckling playfully at her statement as she knew this may not have been the case, but to give the boy a little bit of credit seemed like the most appropriate place to go right now.

The wind began to pick up and Rumi began feeling light particles of sand hitting her stomach as the gale blew her coat gently. She personally wanted to increase the pace that they were walking, as much as Rumi herself enjoyed hearing them get to know each other she almost let it slip her mind. She was wanted back at home in the village. Aside from that explaining to the council that she played matchmaker for two Genin was not going to be a good look for her. "Hey here's an idea!" Rumi suggested as she turned around placing her hands on her hips. "How's about we pick up the pace..I have a strong feeling that I may be forgetting something important, and I..I kinda need to get you guys back home to Suna.". Rumi turned around once more expecting them to understand what she meant and continued her pace.

Rumi couldn't help but ponder a little on Hotaru's question though, the young Kenshi was in bad shape when she met him and there was no question that he was obviously not like this from intense training. What kind of battle was this boy in? And what was it about him that seem to strike out to her so much. Hotaru seemed to be normal enough but there was something else about this boy, Rumi took a personal interest in him and rather why he was like this.

Feeling obligated to answer, Kenshi turned to Hotaru taking a slightly deep breath in preparation for a response. However Rumi's words quickly made him change tactics, Kenshi simply nodded to confirm her statement of a battle that had commenced. He felt it was better this way, after all his reason for leaving the confines of the village simply to gain strength would most certainly not be the most presentable response especially in front of Miss Shiga a well respected Kunoichi of the Sand. His gaze seemed to shift to his left a little as his head lightly tilted in response to his sight, Kenshi could feel that Hotaru was looking at him, and honestly he had no reason as to why. The only thing that seemed to keep hold on Kenshi's thoughts was the desire to know..Know if this woman, this Kunoichi called Rumi could be the instrument of his advancement. Kenshi's only visible right eye swiftly glanced from Hotaru to Rumi before his multi-colored bangs returned a concealment to them.

"Hotaru..Those fans you spawn..What are they?" Kenshi's question was a tad bold but in no way disrespectful, it showed more of his observation skills rather than his curiosity. Turning his head to face Hotaru he was a startled by Rumi's proposal to return to the village much quickly than their original pace. He turned instantly to face her and upon the final word she spoke nodded and began following as expected, Kenshi's mind frame had instantly changed and in seconds he disregarded his own statement.

Still looking a tad dazed in his own little world Kenshi almost staggered when walking behind her, a trauma of some sort seem to agonizing him. Perhaps maybe because a child of his age, placed in the heat of battle for his life was too much, but somehow even Kenshi knew this was not the case. He coughed once into his palm and was shaken by the sight of blood on that seemed to cover his entire hand. In disbelief Kenshi shook his head from side to side trying to clear his sight only to find the blood on his hand an illusion. He had no idea what was causing this to go on in his head, what could have happened? A simple fight, surely this was enough to eternally scar his mind...

Middle of Desert..1 hour after battle against Kusagakure's Chunin.

"Sir..looks like we found him." An Anbu of the Hidden Sand village spoke as he closed in on the location of the unconscious Kenshi. He turned to his left and almost instantaneously his partner appeared beside almost as though he was waiting for some subtle signal to show his presence. The partner looked down at Kenshi slightly paying close attention to the headband that was stained fresh with blood. "This is most definitely the one..The Shoubu kid."
"Mhm." The partner responded nodding lightly.
"Excellent..To think that a Chunin would be taken out by a boy of his age.." The strange voice that spoke the words was soon followed by a man who appeared behind both the Anbu, this man who's face gleamed with a sick passion as he watched the hurt sleeping boy, almost as though he was not human, like an experiment. "I must say..it's been so long, since I've seen one of them..Yes, no doubt about it..The Shobu's genes do him well.", "Are you sure Lord Shozuku? He may have just been lucky, be reminded sir that he is merely a child." upon hearing these words, Joichiro could not help but laugh as he stepped forward slightly. He knelt down slightly observing Kenshi closer, both Anbu were a tad confused by what fascinated their Kazekage with this boy.
"Uh..Sir.."
"He was seeking power...And this was no luck, of course he won the fight.." Joichiro responded instantly and he made a hand seal with one hand, his eyes were focused on Kenshi and shortly after his little focus he rose once again to his feet. "What did you expect..He's a Shoubu...We're leaving.", Joichiro turned and began walking away and instantly his Anbu followed without question, "Don't worry..He'll seek us out..Leave him there for now."

...Kenshi, before regaining his composure clenched his hand to a fist and turned his head looking back in the direction he came from. He gave it a moment, but before long he realized that someone had actually managed to find him, someone before Rumi did. Whoever this person was, was awaiting him back in the village.
